The first week of Nevada - a great success!

Moin moin,

the first week in Nevada is now around - and she has been very successful. In addition to good and successful demonstrations, our dealer Dan Smith of the Smith Valley Garage and a place in the Carson Valley Days parade organized. But first things first. Last weekend - more specifically Saturday - was indeed the great crossing of the Sierras, and the Sunday and Monday morning I spent in Reno. Monday morning waiting for a walk to the office for me and work as the authorities here are a bit slower than other companies, but until then lasted the whole morning and early afternoon. After that I'll be right toward Smith Valley broken to go from there with the JCB and the press after the Yerington Mason Valley continues. The road goes through, inter alia, a spectacular canyon, close to the Walker River.

same evening we had a demonstration there. The customer has indeed been two crown molding, only these are somewhat old, and he was interested in the 2010 machine. Because the conditions here in the Nevada desert to 4900 ft above sea level (1,500 meters) similar to those in the Imperial Valley, we could not begin, however, 23 clock. The demo went up about 3 clock in the morning, then stopped before us the emerging moisture. As the tractor the field was, we have the next morning at 9 clock still pressed quickly the last swath and left a satisfied customer back. The direct comparison of the 2009 XC machine and machine-2010s led to relatively less header identical weights. On average, the 2010 machine was about 20-30 lbs more weight, but this is easily justified by the intended means for extremely dry conditions "Floor Kit. Without use of the cutting plant, the weight differences of nearly 300 were lbs.

In any case, the customer is with his two crown molding very happy after he had tried out before New Holland balers, and with these not satisfied. He wants to supplement its fleet BiG Pack probably next year for another press.
After we finished there were about 10 clock, am I the first time back to our dealers and to run the routine maintenance and service activities.
On Wednesday morning we had the next demonstration. The customer had previously Freeman presses, and was also on the performance of the Crown and press from the very simple operation, very impressed. The conditions were anything but dry (about 3-6% moisture), but despite this very dry alfalfa hay, we were able to bale (2.4 meters) with up to make lb 1800th Also, the Harvest Tec system for determining the humidity was very impressed by him.
I then spent the afternoon with the 100 hours inspection of the JCB. Additional engine oil and engine oil filter also wanted gearbox oil filters, hydraulic oil filter, air filter and oil on the axles and the wheel hub to be replaced. Moreover, extensive Lubrication and inspection work on the scope of 100 hours of inspection. Since we had only started in the afternoon, the inspection has taken up early in the evening. After that I did not press for the next demo ready, and provided with new labels for the parade. was

to 21 clock also everything is done, so I had a short dinner then a few hours sleep before me - for only 5 hours later, my alarm clock to 2 rang again. 2:30 clock I met up with Dan Smith at the shop to the customer on time at 3 clock on his field. The customer - the owner of a Hesston Press - waiting for us, so that could begin immediately. Beautiful clouds and even better bales were the result of the first field. The second field, however, was then very small swaths, and the hay had a consistency, as I had not previously experienced. It did not spread at all in the press - usually large, even small swaths wonderful on the Pickup from, so that the machine is fed over the entire width of the VFS well. These were narrow swaths, and we had some problems, beautiful bale out to get. However, saw the ball of the Hesston not better, although the rake system of Hesston press is actually known that it has a very good wide distribution. In addition, we had problems with a node that suddenly no longer wanted to strip the node. The problem we have but can resolve very quickly. Slightly disappointed, we went to the next field, which again had very little swath. Where the hay was already getting better, and I could do it right speed. With up to 12 mph we left the Hesston Press powerful behind us, and the hay has been on the pickup redistributed pretty wide, so that the bales had another known perfect shape. In addition, the ball weights were back exactly at only 59% compression force lbs for the required 1600, and the customer was mightily impressed. We also used by Rusty Fowler, the 'President and Chief Executive Officer' of Crown North America, along with Brent Raines and George Kilbride. Since the customer has in the field again moved his own press, I had the opportunity to explain, Rusty George and the press, and both were able to squeeze some swaths.

Finally, there was a picture of Rusty (right) and me (left) before the BiG Pack with the new label (which incidentally I like very much) and then I had the afternoon for me again (and machine) . Because yes, the big parade on Saturday in Carson Valley was scheduled, and since it was last week already, I then decided after dry cleaning with the Stihl leaf blower for a high pressure cleaner laundry. On the tractor, some traces of the oil changes were seen, so I brought the whole team to a shine before I drove from Yerington, Mason Valley, back to Wellington, Smith Valley. For the Smith Valley was the demonstration for the next morning set at 5 clock.
to 18 clock I was after a 16 hour day finally back at the hotel.
Friday morning then again an unpleasant surprise. On the picture you can see it already!

In an area that has an average of 75 mm of rain a year, and in fact it never rains in the summer, it was dripping slightly to himself. Fortunately, only in the western valleys, when the clouds hung in front of the mountains, and thus do not have our demo area. But unfortunately, the Smith Valley garage in the west of the Smith Valley, and so were the tractor and the press pretty wet. And a wet Machine and the dust when squeezed make themselves beautiful - just not when everything was sparkling clean, and the next day like a parade.

The demo was definitely perfect again. Small swath, high speed (10-12 mph - and thus twice as fast as the two Hesston by the customer) and ball with the desired 1500 to 1600 lbs at just 50% compression force.

The customer, who had directly provided me with the nickname "Speedy Gonzales" was, incidentally, after a few minutes at the same speed, and has it, I think, very much. Unfortunately, after only 59 balls and one hour on the hour meter box pressed done.

The plane was of course again serious wear, and so waited again once the pressure washer for me. But since no demo until the parade was more on the plan, it is worth Auwand and the machine then looked again in the afternoon like this.

Then in the evening we went back to the Carson Valley to Minden, where I met Brent Raines. In addition, the other equipment from the Smith Valley Garage was also carried out there - but by truck.

Since Dan Smith Case is a Distributor, was natural for me, a case on the truck.

The next morning, we then have everything ready, the press again be related to some wax to a shine, and then it went off at 9 clock.

addition to newcomers like me, there were also true professionals, such as the 9-year-old son of a customer who has his third Parade ride takes you. At home he has a similar way Kubota tractor with front loader on which he has already more than 1000 hours of operation. The only problem with him was that his weight is not yet sufficient to trigger the safety switch under the seat - but for something like this there are other possibilities.

The parade then it was to see what can drive or walk. From local clubs to sports clubs, to bizarre companions. The best place for all to had seen no doubt Brent Raines.

And then it will come from a few photos to show representative, as it has on the 2.1 miles (3.4 km) long route actually looked everywhere.

it for today. Sunday is once again a free day for me - that blog, reports, and containing what the week will be like this - and tomorrow it goes farther. By the end of June I'll move along with Dan Smith through most of Nevada. Let's see what I everything will live to bizarre. Say goodbye for now I would like a photo of something flashy-dressed over the parade.
So, until then all the best!

Greetings Niklas
