During my journey through Cambodia, I am always informed about the ripeness of the cherry blossoms in Japan. In Japanese media have been reporting regularly, could break up when and where the first bloom and how the front will then move across the island. Because this time is one of the most beautiful in Japan. It is not simply a natural phenomenon, but much more a social occasion. So I shortened my stay in Kuala Lumpur sympathetic to one day and returned on the last Sunday morning back in March in Tokyo. (- Admire cherry blossoms お 花見)

The festival is called 'Hanami'. Flows across Japan in a column in the city parks, some of which are considered particularly suitable for the 'Sakura' (桜 - Sakura) to admire. In organized groups, who a blue picnic mat, who snacks (sometimes also made of cherry blossoms) and bring drinks. Large groups do have a megaphone there! A camera of course has it all. A photo image, and so Japanese like the snowy volcanic cone of Fuji-san.
Before the picnic mat are taken off their shoes, spread of alcohol and drinking. Still slowly but steadily. When even the last rays of the sun no longer illuminate the trees like the flow of people moves slowly, peacefully and happily stagger to the subway back.
Or why not a round of karaoke?

So I spent my first week back in my new homeland Tokyo. A wonderful week. Then began the semester and soon the blossoms fell from the trees. Another week and the spell is over.
