Since the transfer to Malaysia is very simple (small ferries, bridges, a visa), you can travel well over the weekend of Singapore.
The lion's share of traffic between the States is beyond the Causeway, a bridge over the lake road from Singapore to Johor Bahru in the south Malazsiens. Even commuters use this road, probably with the motivation the different price levels. Even Weekend Hardcore shoppers take the same strain (congestion before immigration) up.
Johor Bahru
A small ferry is also of Changi Village (near me). An hour with the wooden raft down, and one is at the quiet coastline with some fishing villages, seafood and cyclists.
The insane but the small islands along the east coast. I was on Pulau Redang , North East. A small island with a few bungalow resorts, lots of wood and a beautiful beach. A few steps into the crystal clear water and have a swim the Fish to the feet. Further out, there corals. Even further out are boats and ferries. But the ferry was broken on my way back and we had to wait for a new, swinging.
The island looks like this:
The (second), then ferry docked in Kuala Terangganu, where we dawdled with the car through the countryside. A beautiful coastline, waterfalls and a huge reservoir gibts there.
